  1. Clean the cupboards of junk and take one day a week to prep stuff for wk...cut veggies and fruit, crockpot of soup or shredded meat, or grill chkn legs to eat through wk and cook up a big frittata or quiche thing loaded with meat and veggies for quick bfasts...this helps avoid slipups when time is short. Prep is key for our family!

  2. I have been working on making meals and snacks from real food. The days of processed food in our house has ended! We are one year in and doing great. I have learned so much about cooking and food. I can't imagine eating that junk now! My next healthy habit to obtain is getting more sleep!

  3. I'm starting my first Whole 30 on Monday, all of my husband's family is going to go through the process together to hold each other accountable. These cookbooks would be a great resource!

  4. I quit coffee for 4 whole days…which means I also stopped using cream, honey & sugar. I experience the withdrawal symptoms, headaches, dizziness and crankiness…and I hated every second. So coffee is now allowed, just one a day with the usual suspects. I will deny myself all the rest of the crap that I used to eat but not the coffee! So needless to say, I start the whole 30 over AGAIN each and every day! LOL

  5. I have made a few small changes over the last few months. However, at my recent annual physical I discovered my health is truly in jeopardy and I need to make dramatic lifestyle changes to ensure my children have a healthy mother for many years.

That being said, I have had no soda/pop since starting 2014 and have decreased my coffee consumption (only ever have it with flavored creamer). I am also contacting my local gyms and CrossFit to see it any of them are options for me.

In addition to being a mother, I work outside the home part-time, own a small business, and am a member of the National Guard. I have learned to ask others for help but I have to make the changes for me......so I can change my lifestyle and the lifestyle l raise my family in (healthy foods, activity and a vital life).

  6. I have not started paleo, I am trying to start by cutting out wheat. I am very excited to start to try. I am cutting out sugar.

  7. A few of my coworkers and I are starting a Whole30 challenge this week. We have reminders posted around, and have scheduled conversations to support each other.

In the meantime, I am walking! I started wearing a pedometer in October, and am mindful if how many steps I make(or miss) each day. I look better and feel better, and am looking forward to pairing my walking with Whole30 eating.

I love your site, especially the protein bullets!!!

  8. My best healthy habit it so make movement a part of my day EVERY day. I have a great handle on exercise and keeping my body moving but I want to work harder on the nutrition side of my health! This would be perfect!!

  9. My best habit in 2014, busting out the slow cooker!!! I know using it makes having meals ready mid-week so much easier!

  10. My running addiction is my best healthy habit. It keeps me energized all day and forces me to eat better. Crappy diet = many crappy runs.

  11. I'm working on being a better version of myself. A version who is more forgiving of herself and knowing you don't have to be perfect, just being me is worthwhile. With that said, I've jumped into January with a whole30 and am enjoying the better sleep, skin, hair and energy to move through my day!

  12. the healthy habit that i'm proud of myself for is eating breakfast every day. i used to just skip it and be starving for lunch... but now that i've adjusted to eating first thing in the morning... i crave something 🙂

  13. My life has been turned around due to the CrossFit lifestyle and by eating paleo. I cant even begin to tell you the many health risks that have been eliminated since I've adopted this lifestyle!

  14. I have been eating Whole30/paleo for 3 months now faithfully and working out regularly. My best habit that has supported my new lifestyle is pre-planning! I plan for all meals, snacks and schedule working out into my daily schedule. I spend about an hour on sat. or sun. creating our weekly menu schedule. This has helped me the most to be prepared and successful with our new lifestyle. I have never felt better!!
