Whole 30 Day 1: On your mark

The excitement is not really there, but the resolve is rampant. I got up this morning (after a very fitful sleep) and made coffee which I drank black and thought it was the nastiest stuff ever. I do not have coconut milk yet so I went from sugar and creamer so thick it would part like the Red Sea if I willed it to do so, to black swamp water. This is going to be a long 30 days.

I did pack my eats for the day.

 meals

  • Breakfast was 2 Breakfast cups. They were outstanding, but didn’t mask the black death in a cup.
  • Pork stir fry with broccoli, peppers, onions, carrots, mushrooms
  • cucumbers with salsa I made this past summer (garden tomatoes, cilantro, garlic)
  • olives
  • tangerine
  • sweet potatoes with almond butter (post CrossFit)

After I managed to ignore the Coke machine all day, even during high stress times like lunch and 3pm. I went to CrossFit for the first time in a very long time and completed a pretty good WOD. The squats alone with leave my legs feeling like jello.

I did 16 Toes to pole. I’m being extremely careful with my rib so I only did 8lb dumbell on the left and 15lb dumbell on the right. It felt so good to be back in the gym!

After the workout, I ate sweet potatoes and almond butter while driving in rain. I’m a rebel when I’m starving.

Dinner was a chicken soup made with a deep rich bone broth. I added the trinity (peppers, celery, onions) and garlic with some green chilies for a little heat. I threw in a ton of parsley and polished off two bowls. It was REALLY good on a freezing night.
