I’m here!! Nashville has a beautiful downtown area and I’m glad to be back!
Finding parking was tough. I finally paid to park in a location within walking distance to the expo. I loved walking down some familiar streets. During my college years (Henderson, TN), we often made trips to Nashville for banquets, concerts, weekend getaways, and visiting friends. The downtown area has changed a lot in the past few years and I loved taking it all in. Country music is the backbone of Nashville, so naturally, I hoped to catch Tim McGraw wondering around.
I didn’t see Tim or Luke Bryan, but I saw the familiar “Bat Building”.
And the Ryman Auditorium, home of the Grand Ol’ Opry.
The Expo was AMAZING! I saw so many vendors, picked up some free samples, chatted with people behind the Twitter handles, and basically had a 3 hour blast. I heard the panel of running legends speaking about training, running from the heart, and why running is different for many people. I found Nuun hydration, Swiftwick, Disney, One More Mile, CEP compression, K-Tape, powerbar, bypassed the Brooks wing, debated on several T-shirts, and finally bought some Yurbuds and 2 car magnets that I’ve been wanting to buy for a couple of years.
The size of the expo was astounding. I’ve never seen anything like this. And this is one of the reasons I wanted to do this.
Oh and I’m making plans to return to Memphis on December 2 for another marathon with St. Jude
After the expo, I returned to the hotel to get some dinner and get everything ready for the race. The weather is forecasted to rain.
All the stuff I need for tomorrow.
Race bib and shoe tracker. I’ve never used a tracker like this. That red plastic thing wraps around the laces.
Blue for Boston
Garmin, ipod, glasses, yurbuds
Blisters be gone with Swiftwick. And my favorite long distance Sauconys. The Swiftwick
Ready to race!
