DC Wonder Woman Run Virtual 10K

Registration for the November DC Wonder Woman Run presented by Amazon is open!

Since 2020 decided to push most themed races to Virtual, I have seen a wide variety of these virtual runs.

DC Wonder Woman is one of the best.

Disclaimer: I received a race entry as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review, find, and write race reviews!

DC Wonder Woman Run Registration

Registration for the DC Wonder Woman run was easy and quick. All I had to do was pick my size for the jacket.

Jacket?? Oh yes. This organization has gone way beyond the rest of the entry shirt competition. This isn’t your everyday cotton T-shirt.

The swag bag includes a half zip long sleeve tech jacket. With the weather still in summer boil mode, I’m looking forward to wearing this in the winter. Previous swag bags were also impressive.

Race Day

Virtual races can be anything you want them to be. If you only bought the entry to get the shirt or jacket, you are free to treat race day like a practice run.

If you typically like the routines and mental head games of in-person racing, then do those on your chosen race day.

If you have a group of local runners with a support team, go all out and set up aid stations and music.

The point is, virtual racing is flexible and just waiting for you to decide YOUR race.

I am a very solo runner but I like the rituals of race day.

  • I planned my route to meet my distance.
  • I laid out my Flat Katrina the night before. (This is to make sure we never forget something crucial….like my running skirt for a long ago race).
  • I made my water bottle and placed in the fridge.
  • I checked and reviewed my training notes to remind myself that I AM ready.
  • I planned a good high protein/moderate-to-low carb dinner.

What I LOVE about virtual racing? Not having to figure out parking and the logistics of post-race finding my car.

I didn’t have to worry about that for the DC Wonder Woman Run. I chose my local river walk for this run. I had a great time. I thought a lot about upcoming events and staying in touch with our local running group.

I made plans to participate in more DC Wonder Woman events!

After the run, I uploaded some pictures to the DC site and enjoyed playing with the stickers.

This was such a great day for running and reminding myself to be thankful I can run in these uncertain times in our world. Thank you BibRave and DC Wonder Woman Run!
