I’m cold. I’m hungry. I’m irritable. And I don’t have the energy to run or workout…yet!
This is the main reason I need a complete break from sugar and non-gluten grains. Sugar is highly addictive and the severity of addiction varies from person to person. With me, I’m extremely dependent on sugar. I crave it like a drug.
Whole 30 Day 3 was not easy at all. All I want to do is pop a tab on a soda and shovel chocolate in my face. Instead..I had these meals.
Breakfast casserole. Recipe link.
Lunch was really good, but I was still very hungry. This is Spicy chicken. I should have packed more of this and more fruit at lunch. I was scrambling for something else to eat a couple of hours later. Snacking is technically allowed on Whole 30, but the program works better when you eat larger portions of protein and fat at each meal and eliminate snacking.
Dinner was the same thing…spicy chicken. I could eat a whole pan of this stuff. I may have to make more this weekend.
Not much else going on today. It was the first day back for the kids. They have had a long break and they were excited to see each other. We had a fun day, but don’t think I didn’t dig through my drawers for leftover Christmas candy. Then I remembered that on Dec. 19th, I cleaned it all out because I knew I would be starting Whole 30 in Jan. I dislike my forward thinking sometimes….
A happy for today. My new bowls came in. I have been looking for these for about a year. I wanted shallow low bowls and smaller plates with a defined lip. I first saw these on Danielle Walker’s Against All Grain cookbook photos and I have been on the lookout ever since. Crate and Barrel put these on sale and I got 2 of each. These are perfect for a new fresh look for my food photography. Now if only they had big scoops of ice cream and chocolate chips.
