Our first stop in Estes Park was a quick lunch at the Big Horn Grill. This is a no-nonsense place with plain good food. Nothing fancy, but fast service and food like home. I got the philly steak (no bread) and ate the whole thing. We had been driving half the day and we knew we still had 2 hours of camp setup ahead of us.
This must be the mascot. These deer had no problems coming up to our campsite to eat the dry sage brush.
After camp setup, we took a drive up the eastern side of Rocky Mountain National Park. It was stormy and cloudy but that meant we saw a LOT of elk.
One of my favorite parts of camping is the camp fire. I love reading and listening to the sounds of the mountains.
3 more days here in Estes Park. We have a lot of hiking and fishing left to do!
