If you are looking for a perfect fall field trip, the Tuscaloosa Barnyard is the place to go!
For the past 13 years, students from all over Tuscaloosa county and beyond have enjoyed a fall field trip to a quiet place out in the country.
The Tuscaloosa Barnyard started out with 4-5 stations including a boat ride, feeding animals, touching some chicken eggs, fleeing the llama, and riding a pony.
Feeding the animals is one of the favorites over the years. Goats, especially, seem to get a lot of love from our kids.
Another petting area includes bunnies, baby chicks, and a Templeton-look-a-like rat. The pigs next door are not forgotten. They get a lot of attention, too!
Feeding the ducks and fish while waiting on the boat rides.
Everyone loves the baby goats.
A few years ago, the Tuscaloosa Barnyard expanded to the “Top” area. This area includes more play areas, a corn crib, cow teaching shed, covered picnic areas, pony riding, a cow train, and the jumping pillow. Additional restrooms and water stations are included.
The parents love the picture booths.
Playgrounds with swings, slides, and concession stand with snacks for hot days.
Many of our kids have never ridden a horse so they are fascinated with the well-behaved horses.
Corn cribs and cow trains!
Corn hole, spider web, and tractor wheel climbs keep the kids busy while they wait for their turn at the pumpkin patch.
The pumpkin patch is just the right size for the little kids. They pick a pumpkin and take it home.
The Tuscaloosa Barnyard is not just for field trips. The have hours open to the public for all the fun fall activities. They provide birthday packages for parties of all sizes. They offer a Barnyard store that serves snacks and have trip shirts for sale.
We look forward to many more years at the Tuscaloosa Barnyard! Please check out their website and Facebook page for more information.
