CrossFit change

September 3, 2014 By Katrina 1 Comment

Another big change in September is I am now a member of CrossFit Candor!

This was not an easy decision. I had been a member of another local CrossFit since 2010 and had some great times there with some great people.  So while it was not an easy decision to walk away, it was a very quick decision. Some things were very clear to me during the past couple of weeks. What really stood out was the outpouring of prayers, love and support from the CrossFit family…from Candor. It took about a week to settle things at my old box and get signed up at Candor.

The workout this morning was tough, but it is my first class since the miscarriage and surgery. So bright and early, I walked into a new box and a new family. This was also the one year anniversary of Candor so the excitement was contagious!

And I did my workout. I lifted heavy weights. And I cried. But it felt safe to do that and since everybody already knew my situation and had been checking in with me through email, messenger, and text, they just let me cry and hugged me after. It felt like family. And that is part of what made this decision so peaceful for me. It is also a faith-based family which is exactly what I need.

I’m ready to go back and get stronger. I’m ready to work out again and run again and just have fun again.

Thanks again, Candor for opening your hearts and arms for me.
