The rowing team is out this morning!
It’s a great cloudy morning in Tuscaloosa! People are out in their spring flip flops because the groundhog is a loser and winter has left the building. It’s 80 today. In February. No wonder we are all sick with flu or allergies.
I needed a few more packages of beef, some eggs, and I was feeling the need for greens and sweet potatoes. Our sweet potatoes are A-Maze-Ing. Nothing against california or mexico, but Alabama can grow some sweet potatoes that taste like pie, without adding sugar. PIE potatoes. That should be the name.
Tea Town truck is back with more hot basic chai. I love this stuff. Jonathan made it spicy today so I knew I would love it more. The more spice, the better. Have I mentioned how much I love this little truck of tea? Top 5 in Tuscaloosa.
It was super hot this morning so I waited until I got home to enjoy while checking out the house progress. We should have outer walls next week. There is something awesome about drinking hot tea under your new roof on your own land in the middle of quiet country. I could get used to this.
I also checked out the newest storefront of Heritage House Coffee. This little local coffee shop and bakery has come a long way since the tiny store in 1994. This is the newest location down by the river across from Hotel Indigo.
If you haven’t been to Tuscaloosa in a few years, you probably wouldn’t recognize the revitalization of the downtown and river front area. There are so many new foodie places and local hangouts to explore!
The glass cases hold similar treats as the other 2 locations. Plenty of southern charm in the distressed wood and exposed pipe and beams.
Look at this! Tea Town is on the menu at Heritage House! How cool is that??
I ordered the Bacon-egg-cheese on gluten free bread. This is my new favorite. I am looking forward to spending more time and enjoying some baked oatmeal next weekend. Just walking in the store made me feel happy. I loved the beautiful light and open spaces.
My weekend if off to a great start!
