Spring has finally arrived and with it, the first day of the spring market at Pepper Place. This is my favorite farmers’ market in Birmingham and I have been waiting weeks for this to open!
I came home with a bag FULL of things.
Brussels sprouts, strawberries, leeks, and fresh eggs
Parsley, arugula in the bag in the back.
Kale, sausage, green beans, and coffee.
I also made a quick trip to Penzey’s spices for a freebie and a couple of refills. I think this is the first time I have walked out with buying only 2 jars of spicy goodness. I think I have half the store in my spice cabinet. But each one has its own reason for occupying space. I have a spice for almost everything I make, even scrambled eggs!
The first weekend of spring market season is passing way too fast. I’m not ready for the hectic week ahead, but I’m blessed to have good food waiting for me in the fridge and pantry. It really is the small things that make a difference.
