Insomniacs unite!

I have no idea what is going on except maybe I’m internalizing the back-to-school stress a week early. I even took half an Ambien last night (I NEVER use a sleep-aid except the first day of driving to CO in June. And when the snow/ice misery was just too much for me. So 3 times this year).  I was still sitting up wide awake at 6am. Frankie didn’t know what to do. Usually his fuzzy yowling butt is my alarm clock. This morning, I woke him up.

Breakfast is my favorite…fluffy eggs. I missed my bacon but this sausage was a great back-up. A big bowl of citrus and berries and my shot of cherry juice concentrate rounded out a great early meal.

I was, once again, waiting to tackle a FedEx man. My last EC product for a while is out on the truck for delivery!

It’s perfect! More about this in a separate post.

After the FedEx man left and I checked my box, I went to school for a couple of hours to put down ALL my furniture and see how my set-up looks for 24 kids. Tomorrow, I’ll go put in a full day with organizing, cleaning, and more organizing. The organization projects take the most tedious time but they are crucial to getting the year off to a good start.

Back home, a snack plate for lunch. I’m just not crazy hungry today. Nerves are already setting in. Chicken breast, cheddar, fruit. Perfect summer lunch.

After this, I CRASHED on the couch for 2.5 hours. I went to sleep during the opening scenes of Day After Tomorrow and woke up halfway through the first Rocky. Armed with some good sleep, I got busy on another item on the List to End All Cleaning Lists Before I Go Back to School and Neglect All Housework Until Christmas.

The entry junk thing.

It is supposed to hold keys, notes, pens, lens cleaning clothes, lint brush, candle lighter, and mints. THAT’S ALL. It’s a big piece of work for so few items. And that’s the problem. I’m afraid of what I’m going to find in the bottom of those baskets. And notice the broken off piece of the red square thing. Klassy.

Dinner was a very quick, but very good stir fry of potatoes, sausage, and green beans. Tessemae’s is my new favorite line of marinades and dressings. I love the ingredients in these. This one was a lighter garlic with full-flavor lemon. This plus a few sprigs of some thyme and rosemary made a great dinner. I love one-pot meals.

Tomorrow is a full day at school so I’m off with a cup of tea and good book!
