Final Market of the Season

This will probably be the last trip to Pepper Place in Birmingham for the season. I will get back to Bham in a couple of weeks, but I’m not sure how long the market will be open. I try to get over there twice a month and stock up on produce to last a couple of weeks. Today’s trip was gorgeous! We had our first wave of cooler weather last night so this morning feels like fall. I just need to buy some boots and an infinity scarf and I’ll have accomplished all items on this list.

The day started out at Red Cat Cafe. I love getting a hot latte while waiting for the market vendors to set up. It was a little more than chilly this morning so the place was busy!

After grabbing some goods, I made a quick trip to Whole Foods to stock up on almond butter, meat, frozen food, and a new cider. BOURBON cider. I also spend more than a minute checking out their pumpkins. They are cheaper here than in Tuscaloosa.

When I finally got home in time to see the football game (grrrr), I had a bag loaded with squash, eggs, a few potatoes and some greens.

First October market day and maybe the last. It was a great market season and I will be waiting in May for it to open up again.
