In the land of hanging on by the end of my rope, I decided to do something with a bowl of cherries waiting patiently in my fridge for greatness.
I’m not sure I’m up to full power on the achieving greatness scale, but I gave them my best shot. Which is code for throwing them in a bowl and snapping a picture, then performing pit autopsy, then blasting them to smithereens, then taking another picture.
I actually wasn’t sure if I would like the taste of almond milk, cherries, and almond butter. But I was drooling over the tart cherries. They just made this taste like cherry ice cream.
Cherry Almond Smoothie
- 1 cup of fresh or frozen pitted cherries
- 1 cup of almond or regular milk
- 2 Tablespoons of almond butter
- 3-4 ice cubes
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
Combine, blend, enjoy!
In other news, the world continues to revolve. It’s even quaking today in the east coast. Hurricane on the way. Deathly hot humidity in the south. Life is moving on and so am I. I made it to Crossfit yesterday and it was AMAZING to be back. I’m sore right now and dreaming of a hot bath and good book. But my legs feel better and so do I.
I’m so ready for fall. I keep seeing leaves trickling down..maybe 3-4 a day and people laugh and tell me it’s because of the heat drying them out. But I believe in the Great Fall Fairy! She will bless me with cool breezes if I wait all night in a pumpkin patch!! I KNOW she’s real!!
Hurry Great Fall Fairy. I need some fall beauty to behold.

I love cherry smoothies. I’ve never thought to put almond butter in it though. Yum.
I never thought about it either until I googled ideas for cherries
This sounds so fabulous! I only ever eat cherries during the 2 or 3 weeks when they’re actually in season around here (i.e., when they’re affordable!) I never thought of buying them frozen and turning them into a smoothie like this. I’m adding this to my grocery list….thank you!!
