A pork chop and a little ham
Apparently Frankie approves of my trip today. He’s made himself right at home in my Whole Foods bag.
Dinner was a new recipe for the crock-pot. Pork & peas. I used bone-in pork loin chops. The only way I like pork loin is to slow cook it or roast it. This is a much leaner cut of meat therefore it can dry out into a tasteless chewey dog toy.
I used frozen peas, green beans, and onions in the bottom of the crock pot. I browned the chops in a little oil before putting them in the crock pot. I wound up with fork tender pork loin and extremely flavorful field peas.
But best of all….crock pot cleanup…..which happened to be the cleanest part of my kitchen.
BEFORE---ignore the wine bottles. A couple are empty. I use wine frequently in cooking. And if it’s not good enough to drink, it’s not good enough to use in food. Okay, well, maybe I do have a teeny glass while I’m working on dinner.
AFTER-
I love it when it’s clean. But it makes me want to cook something. It’s late so this girl is off to sleep!
