Whole30 2015

It’s that time of year again. I’m honestly glad to get past the holiday foodapalooza and back to some form of healthy eating. Sugar is my demon and it must be defeated.

If you are new to my site and interested in hard and fast results of my first, and most-succesful (more on the failed Whole 30 later this week!) Whole 30, read all about it here.

My first and most successful Whole30 that led me to my Happy Paleo Place.

I’m not going to skim over the fact that I let depression and emotional eating take over after our miscarriage in August. It’s done. I’m still carrying extra weight from those horrifying weeks, and simple cutting calories isn’t going to cut it off my body. Eating real food, NO SUGAR, moving a lot, and lifting heavy things are the keys for me. Whole30 is my best way to go about cutting off the head of the dragon. So, starting Monday, Jan. 5, game on.

One thing that I think really helped me the first round was being accountable here on my blog so I’m going to do the same with this one. That does not mean all-whole30-all-the-time, but it does mean that my daily review posts where I talk about what I ate, my workouts, anectodal “guess what happened to me today” stuff will have Whole30 meals and thoughts. Putting this out there for the world to see (hi Ireland!!—huge stats coming from across the pond!) will help me stay focused. I can’t reach either of my 2 goals for 2015 if I don’t lose this sugar bloat.

For some quick meal ideas, I will be referring back to this 30 recipe roundup.

This weekend, I went to the store to stock up on Whole30 approved staples and I will be pulling out all my kitchen gadgets and warming up the oven for some yummy dishes.
