Taking things one day at a time is a little too daunting for me right now. I’m working on getting through a few hours at a time. When things go bad fast, they do not seem to get better fast. But, I know from experience that prayer, time, and patience are great healers.
Since I do not have anything remotely resembling food or running to ramble about, how about a random photo parade?
Thrills: Only 2 weeks until Alabama football. I am so ready for the games and tailgating. If only I could stop seeing all the tiny Alabama baby clothes…
Spills: Did you know that hot tea burns the fire out of the skin between your fingers? I have broken fingers, cut tissue down to the bone, and carry scars from the oven element at 450*. But hot tea on webbed skin between fingers brought me to my knees. I have some great friends who thought I needed a Wonder Woman mug. That’s the only reason I didn’t cry over spilled tea. But trust me, it really hurts!
Other adventures: I need an Extreme Makeover, Classroom Edition. Actually, I just need a classroom Merry Maid.
A big-girl bag. While I love using a backpack, especially when traveling, I have been looking and longing for years for a leather bag that will last forever. I’m not interested in designer names. In fact, I think I’m anti-designer. I wanted a real workhorse of a bag that would hold my junk and look better with age and use. I finally saved up for this beauty and I couldn’t be happier.
Want more adventures? How about hauling this pink bad boy around? Guess what that monstrosity contains? UNIT 1…2 weeks…ONE UNIT of our new reading program. For KINDERGARTEN. The next time someone tells me “Oh you teach K? Don’t y’all just play and nap and learn the colors, numbers to 10 and the alphabet?” I’m going to smack them with the Pink Thunder.
The second binder is our Common Core “unwrapped” standards. No, unwrapping standards is not as fun as unwrapping a Klondike bar or Santa present.
That’s all I’ve got for now. I’m weaving in and out of sleep, taking massive anti-biotics to prevent infection and hopefully prevent a D&C. I’m not able to keep much food down so I’m mostly sleeping and trying not to think too much.
One weekend down..and one weekend closer to football, Halloween, and all the pumpkin things. 🙂
