Oatmeal, gingerbread, and OBSERVATION!!!

Run: 3.5 miles

Sugar: fasting-110

Wednesdays are usually my celebration for surviving Tuesdays—they are bad luck, I’m telling you—but this morning was not off to a good start. I woke up with face pressure. Fun. That usually doesn’t mean happy things in the future.

Not to be deterred, I knew that the day after Read Across America would be crazy. Yesterday, we had a Pajama Day and even the teachers wore their pj’s to school! I set my class up for the challenge of reading 100 books by the end of the day. Keep in mind, these are 5-6 year olds. We first did a math activity to figure out how many books each student needed to read in order for us to reach the class goal. Then we determined that in order for the book to count, they had to read it to a friend. Armed with books, pillows, and blankets, we were off!

They reached 100 in less than 2 hours!

I was so proud of them! I would love to show pics, but I do not post pictures of children on my personal website, blog, or facebook.

So, this morning, I needed fuel. It was going to be a long day.

Cinnamon. ( I can spell most any word in my reading/spoken vocabulary, but this is one I can NEVER get right. Yay for firefox red underline thingy!!)

oatmeal

Gingerbread Granola.

Lunch was soup-Leftover Amy’s Organic Lentil Vegetable. For a can, this was good!

And I’m so glad I had a great breakfast. Today was the much anticpated, highly dreaded, let-this-be-done, READING OBSERVATION. Glad it’s over and apparently, I need post more student work. I’ll get right on that when I finish teaching them how to read 😉
