I’m not a fan. People know this about me. But every now and then, I have to shout it again. I don’t like the tuesday.
This is one of those quick drive-by posts mainly to update people on my health issue right now and show a fabulous salad I made because my body is craving food that is alive and doing some good.
Rhabdo update: I got more information today for more fluid and CPK (creatine kinese) test to see how much protein is floating around. I was at 18,000 Saturday afternoon. My Sunday afternoon level was 16,000. I haven’t made much progress since then. I need to be under 1,000. Rhabdo is still eating my muscles and straining my kidneys. I’m still hearing “danger of continuing renal failure”. And I asked for clear instructions on when I can run again. He won’t discuss it until my levels return to normal. Then we can “sit and chat about that”. Which screams to me that I’m not going to run a millimeter anytime soon.
And anybody who knows me knows that’s not acceptable to me.
After that’s why I feel like I’m spiraling out of control.
So my focus is now 100% on nutrition since I can control that right now and that’s the only lifeline to keeping my glucose levels down. And weight off.
Chicken spinach salad with apples and walnuts. All clean.And easy on kidneys.
I assembled a bed of baby spinach. It’s topped with chicken breast, sliced Granny Smith apples, bacon, and toasted walnuts. The dressing is my favorite and super simple
- 2 Tablespoons of Newman’s Own Oil and Vinegar
- 2 teaspoons of dijon mustard
- 2 teaspoons of lemon juice
Tomorrow has to be better. I think I will still get up and make my pre-workout shake even though I won’t be going to CrossFit. It will be a good day.
