Got bread? Alabama is fresh out!

It’s been a long week and the day is crawling by. I bet it has something to do with us getting snow tomorrow. The models and weather forums and updates are about to drive me insane. It’s like my life is on standby until I see a flake. Only, I don’t want a flake. I want the 4-8 inches that I’ve been promised!!! I have to travel far away to see snow that deep. And we will be traveling back to Colorado again in 139 short days, but I can’t wait that long to see snow.

So, about an hour ago, I decided to actually get out of my warm bed and make breakfast. Frankie wasn’t having none of that. He ate early and his fuzzy butt is cemented on the end of the bed where it’s warm. I don’t blame him.

Quick run-2 miles inside like a good little winter soldier-then a nice long breakfast. Yummy breakfast.

  • oats
  • cinnamon vanilla almond butter
  • pumpkin granola
  • flaxseed

I miss this stuff during the week. I’m determined to find a way to eat it at school after CrossFit. I might be a happier person if I do. Then again, if I don’t see snow this weekend, all bets are off. (Anybody see a theme running through this post? 😉 )

And no, those are not Christmas dishes. They are technically snowy January dishes. But never fear, I still have quite a few red and green bowls that will continue to adorn my table until March. Don’t hate. It’s ok. I promise. Yes, the trees are still up. More about that later.

Time to go make some soup. I’m literally about to eat the house down. It’s a good thing I went for that milk and bread run yesterday :D.

And I’m not the only crazy one. Check out this picture from Trussville, AL.

My town wasn’t this bad yesterday at 3pm. But never fear, the snow dreams will take over and there won’t be a stitch of bunny bread left.

Have a great day everyone!

Wow, I've never seen a grocery isle so empty! The only time that my grocery stores looked like that was back when everyone thought Y2K was going to happen. ;)

Be safe!

Down here, there is really no way to have enough equipment that can salt roads whenever we get snow/ice. These storms hit maybe once or twice every 5 years so the area just shuts down for icy roads. There are 120 trucks for a city of 1.4 million people and they only sand to roads for traction. If we get an ice storm, we will be without power for at least 3-4 days and up to two weeks in some areas. So people go crazy with the bread, milk, and non-perishables. :D

Everyone is freaking out here too. Although I went to Kroger and while they seemed to have a lot of bread, they were completely out of frozen vegetables. Somehow, I doubt that had to do with the snow but I thought it was odd.

I just got back from Publix. All they had left was one long row of their basic brand of white and trays of wheat. People were still grabbing them like lifelines. The milk and canned goods were cleaned out and I saw 6 stockers in the cereal aisle. Insane! I needed broccoli and eggs so I was all set.

I think its so funny how worked up we get over snow down here in the South. It's all anyone can talk about here in GA too. My mom keeps freaking out that baby B will come overnight Sunday and she won't be able to drive the hour to where we are. LOL

I always have the attitude "I'll believe it when I see it" when it comes to the "winter storms" here.

I was thinking about you earlier when a poster on a weather forum said she "heard" that low pressure systems can bring on labor. I checked to see if B was still hanging out in there. Be careful and stay safe!
