F is for Friday and Fitfluential Ambassadors!

How about a little Friday alliteration? What am I loving about this week?

1. F is for FitFluential Ambassadors. I got a much-anticipated email from Danielle at FitFluential notifying me that I’ve been accepted as an Ambassador. So what does this mean? FitFluential is a network of fitness enthusiasts created by Kelly Olexa in 2011. What does FitFluential do? It provides the connections between other fitness enthusiasts with brands and companies with similar interests. As stated on their website, FitFluential was designed to connect health and wellness brands with their ideal target market through customized, long-term experiential and contextual marketing campaigns….It is the perfect balance between fitness and influence. It is NOT an ad-campaign. So what does an Ambassador mean? The website said it best.

As an Ambassador, you’ll have numerous opportunities to work with our brand partners. That means when fitness brands want to partner with solid FitFluentials on product launches, social media campaigns or audition bloggers for long-term partnerships, our Ambassadors are the first to be invited.

Ultimately, the goal of FitFluential is to successfully connect brands in the fitness space with highly influential fitness enthusiasts that are an ideal match for that brand. An ideal match is one where the FitFluential member (and their audience) is a perfect representation of the brand’s target market

I’m very excited about this opportunity, and I take it seriously. My little blog has been slowly growing over the past six months initially due to traffic from food photography sites. Slowly, my traffic has increased in REACH and decreased in bounce rate (how quickly people hit my site and click away). Through stats analysis, I learned that people STAY on my blog for 4 reasons: 1. Family/friends 2) running and CrossFit 3) recipes and specifically searches for “clean eating” and 4) Tuscaloosa/University of Alabama. It just so happens, those things happen to be what I’m most excited about. But my ultimate wish is to influence people to consider making a few small changes to a more healthy lifestyle. Here is my introduction to my application.

Alabama needs more representation!
That is one of the reasons I want to be a FitFluential Ambassador. We are in the top 5 states to be honored with the following:  Fattest, most unhealthy, most sedentary, highest rate of diabetes and heart disease, and most likely to split a pair of pants in Wal-Mart. I’m trying to change that.

I look forward to interacting more with this outstanding group of Ambassadors!

2. F is for a Four day CrossFit week. I love these weeks when I get in all 4 planned workouts. By Friday, I’m usually a mess of soreness but something about the weekend gives me just the push I need to get up and get going on a Friday. For some reason, they decided they wanted to shred the ever lovin’ last bit of strength out of us. One would think that bringing home 2 out of 3 awards for Dragon Boat races would be a reason for some nice and easy workouts. One would be wrong. There’s no whining in CrossFit. Crying is optional.

3. And finally, F is for Farmer’s Markets. I’m off to Birmingham tomorrow for the first trip of the season to Pepper Place. I hope they have strawberries!

Happy Friday!
