It’s no secret that I love cooking and baking. Unfortunately, I can’t have most of the baking treats I cook due to the added sugar. Stephen doesn’t eat a lot of sweets either, so I’m sending batches of stuff to my friends at school. Several people wanted to know how I made these Oreo truffles.
Basic recipe:
1lb bag of oreos
1 8oz package of cream cheese, room temperature
1 bag of milk chocolate chips
1 cup of white chocolate chips
Grind cookies into a fine powder Mix in cream cheese on low speed
Roll into balls. Freeze 15min Melt milk chocolate in double boiler**
Dip into melted chocolate**** Allow to cool 3-5 minutes
Melt white chips in double boiler Use fork to dip in chocolate and fling!
** I do not have a double boiler. I boil water in a small saucepan and put my glass bowl of chocolate on top of 1 quart saucepan. It melts the chocolate without burning it.
**** I tried dipping with a fork, but the balls kept falling apart. For the second batch, I used a small spoon to roll around and scoop up quick. A friend from school put toothpicks in hers before she froze them. I think that would work much better next time.

I like to make these too. I usually just melt a little bit of chocolate at a time in the microwave. Works for me.
