Holiday Home Tour 2018

 holiday home tour 14

Last year at this time, we had just moved into the house after a 1.5 years in an RV. We immediately put up the Christmas decorations and I didn’t put much thought into what and where they went.

This year, things were different.

The first weekend in November, we were at the beach. As soon as we got home, that daylight savings time was over and it was now getting dark at 4:30 in the afternoon. In my opinion, if the powers that be are going to insist we drive home from work in the dark, then my Christmas lights are going up at the same time.

If my coffee at night is by candlelight, then I might as well pull out the holiday mugs.

If I happily volunteered to host 2 parties with 30+ people, then my kitchen needed to be on holiday point.

If there is going to be a season of hot chocolate, coffee, and tea, I needed stations.

Decking some halls with boughs and wreaths were so much fun! We waited many years for this.

If I claim to love Christmas trees, there should be plenty of them.

If the bedrooms are calm and bright, they should feel that way, too.

And if my office is where I spend lots of time drinking some peppermint mochas while working on the blog or school work, then the room should be as festive as my favorite holiday drink. Badass balm is a must during the holidays. Yes, I painted my office the colors of peppermint. Icy blue with accents of red.
