What’s happening in September?

The last day of September was a great one. The older I get, the more I love the changing of seasons, especially from hot humidity to crisp autumn days. The South has such a short “fall” season that I make a point to take advantage of the outdoors as often as I can.

Running lately=awesome.

My barista at my Target Starbucks is fabulous. I couldn’t recreate this without it looking like a ride on the Hot Mess Express.

Last week, I took part in a September ritual that is going on 15 years. The release of the latest J. D. Robb book. I have lost count of the number of books in the saga of Roark and Dallas, but it’s in the upper 30’s I think. I always stop by Walmart to get my mitts on the hardcover book. This one did NOT disappoint!

Fall picture staging. Experience level: Advanced. I was a little taken aback by the Southern Living cover. It is usually an explosion of fall colors including a food cover. The Yankee Candle catalogue was full of “rub and smell” pages. I like the mix them all up on one wrist just to see what happens. Doesn’t everyone? No..oh. Oops.

Obviously, I take my school duties seriously. My planner is proof.

This ^ is a result of a major snafu at work involving long hours of data entry and mid-level panicking for 3 days. Tonight, I could NOT write one more school-related thing in my planner. I had my eyes on the prize. Season premier of the Blacklist and catching up with Olivia Pope was all the life I could handle at that point.

Tomorrow is the big day. October. Bring on all the “basic” side-eyes, the memes, the quotes, the fall colors, fall fashion. I even break out of the black mortuary look to wear some color with my boots. I do not apologize for my sincere love of pumpkin-flavored coffee and well..pumpkin. Nor do I care that my leggings and Uggs make me look like every typical female who loves fall. It’s my boot fur and I’m not sorry.

October also means more outdoor workouts, more RUNNING and more races.

Happy Wednesday!
