Welcome to the jungle.

in Clean Eating

Yes, I’m still alive. No, I have not run away from home. I’m a teacher and that means most of August is dusk ‘til dawn survival mode. Getting ready for 20+ kindergarteners takes a lot of time and energy and unfortunately, I haven’t found a way to bottle and hoard energy. Some days, it’s all I can do to get home and horizontal before I fall over. Other nights, I’ve got such a long list of school work that I’m lucky if I’m asleep by midnight. And school has only been in session for 4 days.

Running is going pretty good. I’m 2 weeks into marathon training and I have a pretty intense long run planned for this weekend. Crossfit this week has been non-existent. School started Monday and I’ve been getting there by 6:00 most mornings so that cuts out CF class. Hopefully, I’ll be back to a normal schedule next week because if I don’t sling some weight and pound some muscles, I’ll come unglued. School is REALLY stressful this year with overcrowding, English speaking students are the minority, and general overall anxiety. This girl needs to lift heavy and breathe hard. And learn 3 dialects of Spanish and 2 dialects of Vietnamese and Cantonese…all spoken with a Southern accent.

Thank goodness for good food.
