Week 3- Weigh In and reviews.

www

It was a good week! I’m down 1. 4 lbs. That’s 3 weeks in a row that I’ve lost. Granted, it’s not much. Total of 2.4 lbs but it’s a loss and not a gain. I think that’s all I can hope for with this slow start.

What did I do differently? I ate ALL of my weeklies and a small few of my activity points. Keep in mind that I earned 58 points for just 1 day with the half marathon. Add that to the rest of the week and I earned almost 70 activity points. I ate about 10 of them along with all of my weekly points.

What I’ve noticed in the past 3 weeks is that I’m eating a LOT more food than before. Whether it’s zero point raw fruit and veggies, or point heavy nuts and peanut/almond butter, I’m eating a LOT. I’m never hungry and that is a great feeling. I’m also working my tail off to plan for meals and snacks even with the hectic weeks coming up with school coming to a close and gearing up for some travel plans.

Two resources that I’ve used this week:

1. Podcasts. I have never listened to a podcast prior to joining WW. I found a great listing of weekly podcasts through Heather at Half Size Me. She posts weekly menu plans similar to what I have been doing for a couple of months, and she posts a weekly interview with other inspirational people who have battled and succeeded with losing weight. I can name a few times that I’ve had that 3pm crave for sweet/salty food and I’ve turned on one of Heather’s podcasts with an apple in my mouth just to get me past the intense cravings. She has such as good grasp of what we struggle with considering she lost 170 lbs. She gears her information mostly to mothers, but this happily married childless girl is gobbling up every minute Heather provides for us. You can subscribe to her podcasts through itunes.

2. WW Bar code scanner. This is the handiest little tool. I use it in the grocery store and it saves a lot of time entering in all the information. It has a pretty good database and it is updated often so I recommend updating the app every couple of weeks. If the product is in the database, it will give you the point value and serving size. Pretty nifty! It will also automatically save your searches so you can track them later as you eat them or track instantly if you are an etools/monthly pass user.

Next week is going to be tough. The last few days of school are very very hectic and exhausting. I’ll need to be on top of my game to eat well, keep moving, and NOT STRESS so much.

Congrats!! I think so often the issue is not eating ENOUGH and the body hangs on to fat because it is in deprivation mode! So you eating more is a good thing, clearly it is working!
