Market season is open! And this is my first chance to return to my absolute favorite way to spend a Saturday morning. The people were out, even in the cloudy rainy weather, and I came home with so much local food, I had to make 2 trips back to the car. I need a new market basket before I return.
It was great to see some regular vendors and some new ones like Piper and Leaf from Huntsville. Their jars of tea were a BIG hit!
Now that the market is back in season, that means my weekly meals will center around what I can find. Salads are definitely back in the menu. A lot of vegetables and local meats are my favorite ways to include some variety and I brought home plenty of both. Just walking around and looking at all the color and REAL FOOD put me in the mood to do a lot of cooking and eating.

You guys got peaches already? I'm jealous. I'm in Philadelphia. At least strawberries are starting to come in.
