Happiness

It’s been a long week and I’ve had a lot on my mind. The holiday season is gearing up and I’m very excited about that. I find such joy in the little things like shopping for ornaments with the upbeat Christmas music playing. I love long baths reading cooking magazines. Holding Stephen’s hand while window shopping and trying different coffees at the bookstore. Little kids talking about their letters to Santa. Sitting with a hot cup of anything and the holiday lights and trees lit while watching Charlie Brown.

This time of year, I pay close attention the little things. I guess it’s a way of taking it all in. I’ve learned in the past year that things can change in a heartbeat. Precious moments can disappear. Life can end. Life can begin. In the past twelve months, I’ve gone through whirlwinds of emotions from one huge extreme to another. And yet, I’m still here to tell about it. And I’m still smiling. I know at any moment, all around me can be gone so I pay close attention to the little things…the small things..the happy things.

Today is another day of happy moments.

Oatmeal. Yes oatmeal makes me happy. Oatmeal in one of my favorite bowls (Crate and Barrel, anyone?) makes it even better. Not to mention almond butter, pumpkin butter, and pumpkin granola.

Coffee. It’s even better when Stephen makes it and makes it extra special just for me. (Okay..I won’t lie. He makes much better coffee than I do.) and he put it in my new mug.

Fresh Flowers. Need I say more?

And today is my good friend’s WEDDING DAY!! We will be leaving in an hour to see Tiffany and Arrico make their marriage vows in front of their friends and family on a gorgeous November day. I’m proud to count her as one of my closest friends and I can’t wait to see her smile today. Congratulations Tiffany!

Have a happy Saturday!
