Greek yogurt. Huh???

If you’ve taken a hard look at the yogurt section lately, you may have seen something called “Greek yogurt”. What is this stuff and why are we now eating imported yogurt? Greek yogurt is plain yogurt that has been strained. That’s it. It has a LOT more protein than regular and the thicker consistency makes it much more versatile. As far as taste, it has a milder flavor and lacks the tartness of regular yogurt.

Two common brands that are found at Publix, Super Target, and some Wal-mart stores. Both are zero fat and 18-20 grams of protein per cup. Both brands also have flavored and 2% fat versions. I would steer clear of any added fruit. Most added fruit is nothing more than high fructose corn syrup and juice.
