A pork chop and a little ham

Apparently Frankie approves of my trip today. He’s made himself right at home in my Whole Foods bag.

Dinner was a new recipe for the crock-pot. Pork & peas. I used bone-in pork loin chops. The only way I like pork loin is to slow cook it or roast it. This is a much leaner cut of meat therefore it can dry out into a tasteless chewey dog toy.

I used frozen peas, green beans, and onions in the bottom of the crock pot. I browned the chops in a little oil before putting them in the crock pot. I wound up with fork tender pork loin and extremely flavorful field peas.

But best of all….crock pot cleanup…..which happened to be the cleanest part of my kitchen.

BEFORE—ignore the wine bottles. A couple are empty. I use wine frequently in cooking. And if it’s not good enough to drink, it’s not good enough to use in food. Okay, well, maybe I do have a teeny glass while I’m working on dinner.

I love it when it’s clean. But it makes me want to cook something. It’s late so this girl is off to sleep!
