A little more from The Paleo Kitchen

lemon chive zoodles

My vegetable spiralizer is getting a lot of use lately. It is easy to use although it is very much a gadget that needs storage space. But pulling it out and making zucchini or squash noodles to go with a creamy sauce or hearty meat sauce is worth the time to pull it out and clean it after. I have tried other hand-held Julienne peelers and nothing gave me round noodles like this spiralizer.

This recipe for lemon-chive zoodles is from The Paleo Kitchen. I have been using this book lately to get some back-to-school meals ready for the big rush that starts in August. It is easy to make and versatile enough to take on additional herbs and spices to keep it interesting. After all, zucchini needs a little flavor!

bacon beef stew 2

This is Bacon Beef Stew and it is from a huge crockpot that slow cooked all day long. The weather was rainy and cool and I didn’t want to waste the opportunity to get some glimpses of fall cooking. And this is the first time I have ever used cabbage in stew and it was perfect!
